Take a look at our tips to be make sure you don’t screw up your best mates wedding.

So your friend has proposed to his missus and asks you to be the best man. “Thanks John/ Mike/ Anthony I’m really honoured” you say to his face while really your thinking “F*** me this is going to take some Herculean effort!”

When it comes to being the best man its important that you tow the line between organized (stag do, helping out guests etc), funny- for the speech but not to the point of being a guffawing buffoon who is the only one laughing at your jokes, and sentimental- after all you’ve known Mike/ John/ Anthony for ages. And he’s trusted you to handle a ridiculously important task.

Read on to make sure you do not f*** it up completely.

Speeches

• Make sure you open up with something nice and nostalgic about him/ his new wife. “I knew they were destined to marry. The first time he saw her he was taken away by her beauty. When we were kids he always ran away from girls but she’s the one who made him stop running.” The ‘ahs’ will be ensured from the crowd. Now everyone will be hanging on your every word, you’ve lulled them into a false sense of security before you hit them with the funny/ dirty anecdotes.

• Never mention exes.

• Short and sweet works a treat. Do not waffle on unnecessarily. Wedding speeches can drag on a bit – yours doesn’t have to. Avoid the waffle…leave that to the grooms crazy Uncle Joe.

• >Avoid getting drunk before you start. It’s fine to have a cheeky whisky or glass of champagne before your speech but that’s the limit. Falling flat on your face at the wedding reception should come later. Much, much later. We’re talking after dinner.

• Whatever you do, try to avoid recycled jokes. Ever watch the show Four Weddings on Living? Probably not but this is a show where brides judge each others weddings. In one episode two best men told the SAME joke. This is lame. Do not rip all of your jokes off the internet. ‘Hilarious’ quips like “Aisle change him” and “There are 3 rings- engagement ring, wedding ring and suffering” are cringe worthy, bad and likely to garner a tumble weed moment.

• Always thank the bridesmaids. First of all it’s expected. Second of all when their best friend is getting married, bridesmaids get all emotional. They may need a little affection. When the ladies get up to dance to Beyonces ‘Single Ladies’ you’ll know who is available. It’s the best mans prerogative to get some wedding action!

• Put it all down on paper. Do not free wheel your speech. Even if you have memorised it (which to be fair you should)- still bring the paper its written on. It will help you keep order and stop you deviating. Its  essentially a must ‘cos if you have a little memory lapse your life won’t be worth living. You’ll face the wrath of Mother of the Bride. Enough said.

• Know your audience. Some crowds can take the very crude whilst some are prim and proper. You know your mate and probably know a good clutch of his family and friends, but ask him if generally people will be receptive to a few dirty jokes or if one quip too many will leave Aunt Sally choking on her sparkling wine.

• Make sure you ask the grooms family and friends for funny childhood tales if you didn’t know him way back when. Anecdotes should be a mixture between “When he was six he used to carry his sisters Barbie everywhere so we were a little worried this day might not come” and “When we were at uni he once said marriage was for fools. Changed your mind mate?”

• Never ever say anything rude about the bride. This is just crass. This is the day she has waited for all of her life. Make a not so funny comment about her and this will be the last time you see the groom. And the last time you’ll have complete feeling in your balls.

Follow these tips and hopefully you’ll be well on your way to making sure you give the best, best man’s speech possible.

Organization

• Organise the stag do. Make sure the groom forgets his name but do not leave him in a foreign country with no trousers on.

• Help to keep order amongst the other grooms men.

• Guard the rings like your life depends on it.

• Get to know the chief bridesmaid (especially if she’s single). You are both in charge of making sure everything runs smoothly

• When pictures are being taken make sure crazy Uncle Joe or anyone else does not wander off. The sooner the pics are done the sooner you’ll be at the reception.

• Make sure people know how to get to the reception. Especially old relatives. You might get a dusty Werthers Original for your troubles.

• Organize decoration of the honeymoon suite/ and or the departure car for the bride and groom, with the chief bridesmaid. If your lucky you might get lucky with her during the process

• Make sure the groom doesn’t do a runner.

• Do not encourage the boys to do a hilarious dance routine at the wedding. It rarely works out. Unless the boys are members of Diversity or Flawless.

• Once your speech is done, slowly begin to drink your weight in free booze.

Starphotographer Manfred Baumann did build a new artwork. A photography which is similar to a painting. The titel “LIFE” chose the artist because of in this picture he build some storys from his own life. The location for the shooting was the new renovated Moulin Rouge in Vienna.

Cardio Vascular Training can bring results to anyone at any level: beginners, intermediates or advance.

You should have an idea of what level you are, if you do not consultant a professional!

Its fair to say a large portion of people tend to go for

• long distance runs
• long distance outdoor/ indoor cycling
• or swim lengths in the pool

All of this is great but these are generally moderate intensity sessions. This month I want to focus on the High Intensity Session (HIS). The HIS will push you to greater fitness levels, quicker results and create the lean muscle mass physique which footballers typically have.

How

So how do you do this? Pay attention because here comes the science bit….

First you need to work out your Maximum Heart Rate (MHR)

Here is the formula

220 minus Your Age = Your MHR (According to the American College Sport Medicine (ACSM) 220 is the number given to structure of the human body)

For example my mate Mike’s MHR works out like this

220 – 29 (Mike’s Age) = 191 Mike’s MHR

Mike’s Maximum Hear rate is 191

Now you have your MHR we can work out our training intensities

Training zones are based on a percentage of the MHR

Heart rate is measured by BPM (beats per minute)

To measure your bpm accurately get hold of a heart rate monitor watch and strap (I recommend polar.fitnessmegastore.co.uk)

To measure intensity we are going with the 1-10 RPE scale (Rate of Perceived Exertion) where

1 – 4 Easy

5 – 6 Moderate

7 – 8 Hard

9 – 10 All out Power! This is when you give it all you’ve got.

Now you can easily work out your training zones. See Mike’s below:

Training Zones

90 – 100% Maximal

Effort level of intensity 9 – 10

172 – 191 bpm

70 – 80% Peak Aerobic Zone

Effort level of intensity 7 – 8

134 – 152 bpm

50 – 70% Moderate

Effort level of intensity 5 – 7

96-134 bpm

CARDIO VASCULAR POWER SESSION

Beginners have a fitness instructor present whilst participating in the 4 exercises.

Level Sets

Beginners 3

Intermediate 4 – 5

Advanced 5 – 7

Rower

• Set your resistance to level 10 on the side
• Blast out the blocks sustaining the rapid speed for 10 to 15 seconds
• Allow for a recovery time of 3x time the duration of exercise. I.e. 10 seconds training, 30 seconds rest. This allows the body to recover for the next set

Cross Trainer AKA Elliptical Rider

• Boys load the resistance up to your level 10 (bearing in mind most a cross trainers resistance level goes up to 20+ so what you would be doing is measuring your intensity level 10 not the machines level 10.)
• Power on the arm pulleys and legs rotating as fast as you can. sustain this for 10 – 15 seconds and rest at 3 times the amount that you exercise.

Upright Bike

• Become a cycle enthusiast and load the resistance on the bike to your level 10
• Sprint for a max of 15secs
• Allow for a recovery time of 3X time the duration of exercise. i.e. 10 seconds training 30 seconds rest

Running

• Mark out fifty metres and sprint the length
• Rest period is a ratio of 1:3, for example if you sprint for 8 seconds, rest for 24 seconds.

Complete this and pat yourself on the back. Repeat a mix of these sessions 3-5 times a week for maximum impact.

All four sessions are designed to increase the body’s creatine phosphate energy system. The same system used when lifting heavy weights.

Mix this cardio vascular training with your resistance training if you want to build muscle size as well as increase cardio vascular fitness.

iCandy caught up with hit making Atlanta & LA based Producer Drumma Boy fresh out of the studio. Boasting an impressive CV of artists, he has worked with some of Hip Hop’s greatest from T.I to Kanye West.

Producer of the Year at last years Ozone Awards, his beats would aid in 2 nominations for the 2009 Grammy Awards for T.I’s Paper Trail and “Put On” by Young Jeezy & Kanye West. Drumma Boy is now ready to bring some of his magic to the UK.

iCandy got the scoop on his motivation for making music, and let’s just say exotic dancers have a lot to answer for…….

So where does Drumma Boy hail from?Me
mphis Tennessee. Born and raised, that’s where most of my family are from.

Who would you say influenced you to produce music?
The beauty of music influenced me. My mum was putting music up against speakers when I was in her womb. I still have dreams of hearing music come into my ears but all I see is blackness and I know for sure that’s a big part of it. My dad was in an orchestra, so I was exposed to ballets like The Nutcracker. My aunt was a ballet dancer, my grandmother taught piano, and my mother was an opera soloist. Music is in my blood.

How would you describe your unique sound?
I would describe my sound as world music. The artists that I’ve worked with like Young Jeezy and Rick Ross are seen as Southern (American) rappers, so people classify me as a Southern producer because of that. But I can write music and compose for an orchestra so I can’t be stuck in a box. I consider myself to be the next Beethoven. I just tend to end up on the albums of people I know. I’m good friends with Jeezy; I’m good friends with Gucci Mane so I’ve produced for them. Now that I’ve met artists like Estelle and Rihanna, you’ll see me on some of those projects. And when I come to the UK, I’m going to meet with UK artists and produce in all genres of music.

When do you plan on coming over?
I definitely plan on coming to the UK very soon; I’m looking forward to it. I wanna establish a name for myself out there. Maybe even breaking some new artists that aren’t known in the UK yet!

What’s the music scene like in Atlanta?
The music scene in ATL is great; the love for R&B is very strong out here. There’s a lot of dance music- people like to party to that genre so it’s pretty big. And of course rap music is huge. It’s always fun out here in Atlanta musically, know what I’m saying!

How do you feel about the whole strip club culture in ATL?
It’s nice. Women are the most magnificent species earth! Women are like art and they’ve been put on this earth to be seen. So it’s a form of art. I’m not opposed to it.

It’s a good place for people to go and relax and just free your mind. You know you may have been working all day, producing in the studio and you might wanna see what music the women in the strip clubs are dancing to. A lot of the time it gives you motivation to go and make certain records. I might wanna see what music stimulates and motivates a woman to dance. So whatever they dance to the most lets me know the type of style or flavour I can recreate in my music.

So I heard your new track “Chocolate Women” with Lil Jon, R Kelly& Mario, it was hot! What’s your ideal girl have to be like?
I love classy woman. You have to have class, an education- they are the things that turn me on in the main. And of course your overall look is important. Eyes are very important to me, your eyes and smile. A beautiful smile that can warm up the whole room. Oh and Pretty feet. These are like the top 3, the eyes, the smile and then the feet.

Your only 26 years old….. Where do you see yourself at 30?
Man I see myself all around the world, hosting for TV shows, producing for Rock, Pop, Country and R&B, and owning a jazz club.

Oh and she’s done spots in legendary Ibiza hot spots, played sets for stars like Neyo and recently headlined in Shanghai and Dubai to name a few places.
