Shannon Richards

This 22 year old charismatic, energetic ‘city and western’ girl from Texas whose modelling career is beginning to take off. This curvaceous beauty is both a model and actress, having acted on stage and on camera, and it’s fairly obvious to see how Shannon stays in such attention-steeling shape because she loves to ‘run, ride and train horses, swim, kick box, play tennis, racquetball, volleyball’… let’s just say her stamina is clearly right up there with her beauty…!

How did you get into modelling?
I kept getting approached by photographers, so I decided to give it a try. Once I started, I loved it.

What are your modelling aspirations?
I would love to be in major magazines like Maxim, and GQ.

What advice would you give to models starting out in the industry?
It always helps me to practice some poses with an outfit. This way you know what pose would make you and the outfit look good. Also, for newer models who are working with photographers that are not well known – take someone with you.

What have been your greatest successes to date?
I’ve shot for magazines, calendars, and websites. I’ve shot in many different states, and also in the Dominican Republic.

When working with a photographer do you bring your own concepts and idea’s to the shoot?
Of course, it’s a two way street. I have ideas that I want to accomplish during the shoot, and they do as well. I bring a variety of concepts to each shoot, but I never like to finish a shoot until we are both satisfied.

How do you feel about nude posing?
I’m okay with ‘implied nude’, as long as something is covering the necessities…my dad always said “Keep your hidden treasures hidden.” Ha ha

How do those close to you feel about your modelling?
My family and boyfriend have been amazing. They are both very supportive. I’m sure there are some people that I’m friends with that are probably not a huge fan of it, but they don’t say anything. J

What changes would you make within the industry?
I think the industry is changing for the better. It used to be mostly skinny, tall girls, but now it has moved on to curvy girls as well. It’s good we are getting away from model stereotypes.

How do you motivate yourself to stay in shape?
I have shoots booked constantly! That’s usually pretty good motivation, so I work out 4-5 times a week.
