The Relentless Freeze Festival is looking for models and we know plenty of them. They’re offering weekend tickets to watch Groove Armada, The Streets and A Skillz who will be kicking the party off on Saturday night.

That’s not bad work for a 6 hour shift on Friday 28th and another Saturday 29th modelling O’Neill’s new catalogue of clothing during the live event. You will be appearing on Eurosports LIVE Channel and on the Channel 4 FREEZE Festival programme to be aired after event.

The event takes place at Battersea Power Station, and run from 12.00pm – 10.30pw, Friday and Saturday. Bring some ID as the bars have a Challenge 25 policy and leave the pets, whistle and glass bottles at home.

The Relentless Energy Drink Freeze Festival is a day event so there are no camping facilities and tickets are already on sale. It’s not just an event for those who enjoy snow sports, and the music and shopping aspects of the festival will appeal to anyone who wants to spend a weekend with mates doing something different.

I like to think I’m fairly resilient at the best of times but after weeks of running around, tearing hair out, and organising, the day was upon us. I had just stepped out of the shower when I got the call I hoped I’d never get…

‘Merah is closed as the roof’s caved in and lost them all the power’

First things first – get dressed Gaz – 15 minutes later and I’m out the door heading towards the Tube – destination? The eerily quiet Merah.

Frantic phone calls followed. With just an hour before the judges and contestants turned up this was possibly the worst possible scenario that could have happened and totally beyond our control. Let it never be said that I am not an adrenaline junkie – I LOVE adrenaline – if I’m not under pressure then life kind of loses it’s edge for me…

The result of the calls? iCandy iCon WILL go ahead and we have a new club to hold it in – the chic Holborn House. Soooooo after running up my iPhone and Blackberry bills by Tweeting, Facebooking, broadcast messaging, texting, calling and generally keeping one of them welded to my ear – the message got through and the girls, and guests made their way to the new venue.

Better late than never, the wonderful Jahreen the Dream (looking fabulous in a LBD) took the mic, welcomed the assembled iCandylanders, judges and girls to the first – iCandy iCon. The show had begun!

With that, Laura Beverley glided down the stairs in a powder blue bikini and killer heels and strutted her stuff on the podium to much appreciation, followed then by Rosie Peterson, looking jaw droppingly gorgeous in a Leopard print bikini, and finally the long legged, perfect pout, Kelly-Marie Wheeler in a chocolate brown bikini.

The girls had the assembled crowd and photographers in the palm of their collective hands (including me and I was a judge!). They danced and they writhed and they posed and they pouted for us, all vying to be the very first iCandy iCon. Beautiful girls, good music, a large Brandy and coke in hand – yep there’s perks to editing your favourite online magazine I can tell you!

After the first round, the entertainment was provided by Lithi, the most amazing booty shaking girl ever and no wonder why she’s Dancehall Queen 2011. She shook her ass and she shook it WELL! Leaping into splits, leaping onto the bar and shaking her ass over the edge. Standing on her head and shaking it upside down – this girl can shake it in any damn well way she wants to! The crowd was speechless – I wasn’t – I bloody loved it and shouted out marriage proposals! Sadly due to the change of venue, the fabulous Fuel Girl’s couldn’t be with us to perform, but they’ll be back!

After my pulse rate had subsided, Round 2 kicked off and under the gaze and direction of judge and model Catia Cruz, the girls took to the podium once more in their second outfit. Again the crowd loved the results and the girls bathed in the lights of the video and photographers.

The judges, songstress and model Bianca Simmone, Model extraordinaire Catia Cruz, iCandy Model Search winner Suneeta Nathan, Marketing Director of Sleek Hair Simon Beagle and yours truly Gaz the iCandy Editor, huddled together to discuss whom we thought was the first iCandy iCon….. and the winner was unanimous – Rosie Peterson!

Rosie took to the podium in her flame red bikini to applause and photos and then it was time to party! The music provided by DJ Longers and DJ Chef provided the backdrop for the girls, judges and the crowd to mingle and let loose.

An amazing night given the circumstances! It was great to have such support from Butterfly Models, Miss Flavour 2010 Neetu Sahota, Photographer Joby Rawlins, the hostess with the Mostess Jahreen the Dream as well as the iCandylanders themselves.

Then next day we started work on iCandy iCon 2 – we’re coming back next month even bigger and even better so keep watching as this is just the beginning…we have another 11 iCon’s still to find before we can find the ultimate iCon –  Miss iCandy iCon 2012. Unfortunately it was a bit of shambles and Gaz did not ‘like this’. I moaned. I told the CEO about it and it was then that we had the lightbulb moment (and it wasn’t about getting a loan secured on a property) let’s run regular monthly live events! In that moment iCandy iCon was born!

The first iCandy iCon will seek out and find our ‘Bikini Body’. 10 girls will compete live to be our iCandy iCon, winning a prize, a shoot, a video and iCandy feature, and feature in the official 2013 iCandy calendar. Fantastic!

After literally ’some’ minutes the concept was ready to go and all we needed was the venue. Our executive decisions go something like this

So now we have the concept, we have the venue and we have the date – 5 October 2011. All we need now are the girls and the guests and that’s where you come in!

Do I need to be a certain height?
No. This is a beauty pageant so you can be any height to enter.

Do you have to be from a particular ethnic background?
No. iCandy celebrates all races, creeds and cultures. iCandy is an inclusive event for women from any race to enter which is what makes iCandy so unique.

Do I have to pay to enter?
No, but once you are selected to enter you will be required to garner your friends, family and local community to vote for you by text which costs £1.

How does the voting work for iCandy?
You need to encourage as many people to vote for you by text as possible. Every month from November, the contestant with the highest number of text votes (minimum 200 texts) will win an exclusive all inclusive iCandy photoshoot with either one of these top photographers:

How does the iCandy calendar search work?
Throughout the duration of the iCandy voting, contestants battle it out with text votes to win their exclusive photoshoot for one month. Once a contestant wins a month, their text votes are exempt from winning another month. All individual month winners are then entered to feature in the iCandy calendar. Each calendar-winning contestant’s text votes will still be open and only count for the end prize.

Model parties and dinners
We will also be hosting monthly model dinners and parties in a number of London West End venues, contestants will be required to eat and a top restaurant and then party at a London West End venue. Models will be chosen accordingly, and this is all free and courtesy of www.icandy-mag.com

Here are some tips to aid your campaign to make it to the finals of iCandy 2010.

  • Create a Facebook group saying Vote for ENTER YOUR NAME for iCandy 2010 and add the text number details in there and request all your friends to join and tell them to tell their friends to join. You need your friends and families support to get into the final.
  • Do the same with MySpace, send out feeds on Twitter updating friends of your progress.
  • Contact your local radio station or newspaper and ask them if they can do an article on you letting their audience know that you have entered and that they can vote for you. And if there are other interesting things going on with your life or career they let them know so that they have an angle to work with.
  • Make sure you are happy with the pictures you submit.
